Trip to see the Boise Burleys ....

I got invited along for a birthday trip ... Julie celebrated her birthday in Boise this year with Kris & Beau and Tiffany. I got a last-minute invite and moved some things around so I could go. It was well worth the rearranging it took!

We drove to Boise on Thursday after work. Julie was the designated driver, which meant that I got to relax with a book in the back seat. What a treat! Julie and Tiffany sang their way to Boise; I was the DJ.

On Friday, we took at trip to the river with the dogs. We packed a picnic and spent the day out in the wilderness. (Not too far from civilization, because we got a great ice cream on the way home!)

Beau made his famous cowboy caviar for us to snack on; we ate it with Winco chips for days. Delicious!

Friday night was designated as Julie's birthday dinner at the Burley's favorite Japanese place. It was delicious. And the highlight was when the owner came out to sing for her!

We rode our cruiser bikes to dinner and around the city and parks. What fun! We even climbed the hill by the train station! Tough girls! (We are now officially BIKERS! We bike!)

On Saturday, we started off the day at the outdoor market. We sampled some goat cheese, ate delicious mini-donuts (which makes it OK to eat 12?!), and had lunch at a mexican place on the corner. There I had the best fish tacos ever created ... wish I had saved room for more!

Saturday night, we had a BBQ in the backyard & Beau and Kristi's place. It's hard to capture the fun events of the night in a few photos, but I'll try. The evening started out with a bang as Josu arrived dressed as a "Jack Mormon missionary". His costume was replete with name tag, Book of Mormon, and an alcoholic drink. We laughed so hard, I thought we'd pee our pants!

We spent several hours laughing and talking, then moved the party inside. Royce & Josu were on a roll, as always .... more laughing!

After non-stop eating, we were all ready for a light dessert. Kristi made eclair cake. Because it was so light and fluffy, I had about four HUGE pieces. (I can't figure out why the weight won't come off?!)

We got up and packed to head home on Sunday morning, sad to have the weekend end. But grateful for a really good time! Thanks Burleys!

Youth Conference in Overlake 3rd ward!

We had a great 2-day youth conference in SLC with our ward. Rory had just turned 12 and was able to go, so he was pretty excited about that.
We spent the first day on a scavenger hunt around the historical sights downtown. The kids took TRAX, visited temple square, and walked back to the hotel. After lots of pizza and soda, they went swimming in the indoor pool for several hours. It was so loud in there!

This is a picture of Rylee with the Miamaid advisor, Sister Nelson. She's really cool and has a special talent for doing nails! Rylee just loves her!

On Saturday, we got up early, had breakfast in the parking lot, then went on tours of the capitol building and the LDS conference center. We had lunch as a group just outside the temple grounds, then did baptisms for the dead.

Here's the Mulitalo kids just before heading to the temple for baptisms. Rory wasn't able to go this time; he won't be ordained until July. So he'll spend the afternoon touring the visitor's center while we do baptisms.

At about 5 pm, we returned to Tooele for a BBQ. Some of the brethren in the ward cooked and prepared a delicious meal for us. We had a slide show and dessert and called it a night. It was great fun! And I was soooooo tired afterwards!

Family BBQ @ Sheppards

So, we're going WAY back ... I've been too busy to update for the last month!

Here's some fun pictures from a family BBQ we had at Julie & Jason's! The food was great. So was the company! A highlight for me was playing catch with my dad as the sunset ... he's got a pretty good arm!

Here's a shot of the food magic in action; Jason & Dad on the grill.

And a cute one of Payton eating her dinner; she's a good little eater!

And one last super-cute one of Aunt Jam & little Logan!

FUN at the party store!

It started innocently enough ....

I had to go to Zurcher's to get a few things for a work party. I took the two munchkins with me for the ride. And for a day out in the big city. First stop ... the costume isle!

Here's Baylee's first of many ensembles! And the biggest smile I've seen in a LONG time!
Then Rory took at turn with the funny hats & feather boas!
I couldn't hardly get them out of the store. These are only two of the hundreds of outfits they put together while I shopped.
After the party store, we went out to dinner to a delicious Japanese place, Mikado. It's in the Cottonwood area. We had edamame, miso soup, fried calamari and about 7 rolls of different kinds of sushi. Baylee's favorite was the Playboy. Rory's favorite was the Vegas. It all got eaten!
We ended our fun evening at home watching the first Indiana Jones movie ... Raiders of the Lost Ark. After seeing the new one for Baylee's birthday, the kids wanted to see the rest. So in the next few days, I'm sure they'll be all caught up with Indy's adventures!

WHAT?! Rory's going to JR HIGH!

It doesn't seem possible that Rory's ready for the fast life of "teenagedom" in junior high school ... but it's official ... he graduated 6th grade!

He got all spiffed up for this big day; you can see how thrilled he was to have his picture taken. Mostly, he just couldn't wait to get home, change his clothes, and get out to the basketball game with his friends. Summer is officially underway at the Mulitalo house!

Kids' Dance Festival @ Overlake Elementary

The kids have been so busy with wrapping up the end of the school year! The festivities kicked off with field day, then the dance festival, and rounded out with the 6th graders graduation.

Here's a few pictures of the dancing Mulitalos --

Baylee's class and all the 4th graders danced to the Virginia Reel! Dow see dow!

Rory's class and all the of 6th graders danced to "Soulja Boy"! They really busted a move!

I wish that I had thought fast enough to record a little video clip to share with you all; I was laughing to hard to think of it at the time! What fun!
